On the threshold, leaning

Almost done with school. For the summer. I am soooooooooooo glad. My weddding, my social life, my LIFE have fallen by the wayside while I struggle through three summer school classes. Soon I will be able to go swimming with Jenny. Soon I will be able to sleep in. Soon. Can I get some advice about getting through the last year?

I haven't finished college yet but I'll tell you what helped with my last year of high school:
1) Learning to drive helped kill time. I realized how important being a good driver was so driving a little with my dad helped kill time and make the last year zoom by.
2) I had a crush on this girl in my bio class. She would stay after school and I would stalk her. Great use of time.
3) Hang posters in your room. I spent countless hours shopping for posters. Go for something like The Lost Boys, The Crow and Bruce Lee. Those were my fav.
4) Get yourself a "computer" because it'll be the wave of the future. I did and let me tell you, Solitaire never saw a better competitor.
5) Most importantly, start reviewing colleges that you'd like to attend. Get those applications out early! You don't want to be one of those people who applied to late and not get accepted.

Get a planner just for school. Take an hour, and lay out all your syllabuses, and write in due dates on the calendar. Granted, due dates are often subject to change, but that's why you write in pencil. Look at all the overlappage, and then assign weeks to projects so that you're never all swamped at once. For me, the worst part of school was having 3 projects to do the same week and never being able to start on one because I couldn't prioritize. Planning is key.

Also, hanging out me is the best way to spend the last year. :)

I survived my last year of college by making sure I got enough sleep. I know it sounds ridiculous, but my first three years were exercises in sleep deprivation, and not only was I more effective and efficient during my senior year, as I was getting 8 hours of sleep each night, I was in a better mood about all the effing homework I had to do. It can feel hard to find the time (or the ability...one insomniac to another) for sleep, but it's really worth it. I had the heaviest load of my college career my last year, and I did the best, academically. Really, make time to take care of yourself. It makes all the difference in the world.
